Three Works
By Terry Baker
RACCOONS
Look! A full moon
two raccoons
eating macaroons
STARDUST
Our bodies are but stardust
blowin' in the breeze
our souls are like raindrops
goin' to the sea
THE DANCER
I spy you on the dancefloor
a lithe and limber creature
from the suburbs, someplace
The way you move
to the techno beat
such an animal grace
You are the dancer
dancing through the
centuries
another time, another place
Dancing to lutes in
jerusalem
or drums along the Congo
dancing from race to race
Dancing around an ancient
fire
on a night like this
dancing face to face
