EDITOR'S NOTE: In December 2016, the store moved to 3039 Indianola Avenue, after closing the 1194 N. High Street location.

An Italian Village resident cat is one of the featured felines in the Cat Welfare Association’s 2012 calendar now on sale. If you’ve ever visited What the Rock?!, the rock n’ roll boutique at 1194 N. High St., you are probably familiar with Zorro, the feral cat rescued by Mike Renner and Heather Ziegler, owners of the shop.

A photo of Zorro is displayed on the July page of the calendar. Her face is resting on a burgundy-rose blanket, complementing tinges of pink on her nose, ears and paw. The subdued, dreamy, gentle expression on her face masks her more mischievous, feral nature. The calendar also includes fun information on the featured cats.

The Cat Welfare Association has been caring for homeless cats since 1945. The survival of the organization depends on donations, so the purchase of the calendar will benefit their work. It is available for $16.82 (including tax and shipping) through their website at www.catwelfareohio.com. Pick it up at What The Rock?! in the Short North or visit the shelter in Clintonville at 741 Wetmore Rd. and save $3 on shipping. Call 614-268-6096 to learn more.
